Who We Are

Community Living Port Colborne - Wainfleet was organized and incorporated in 1962 to plan and provide services for individuals identified as having an intellectual disability to ensure them the opportunity to live active lives in the community. The objective in planning services and supports is to assist each person in realizing their individual potential and enable them to enjoy the quality and equality of life in the community.

Community Living Port Colborne/Wainfleet is governed by a Board of Directors of up to 14 people. These include self advocates as well as other interested and involved citizens of Port Colborne and Wainfleet. The Board of Directors has adopted a governance approach that focuses on strategic priorities within the context of governance policies and procedures. The primary functions of the Board of Directors include planning, policy development, oversight and monitoring, performance management and awareness/advocacy.

The Board endeavours to develop an effective governance team that has a wide range of expertise, knowledge and perspectives that are beneficial to the governance of the organization.
